Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council will receive an update on the city Emergency Operations Plan.
Summary Report:
The Northfield City Council will receive an update on the revised city Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). The plan received a full revision in 2022 and there have been some minor updates since that time.
It should be noted that much of the plan relies upon mutual aid efforts with Rice and Dakota County Emergency Management offices as well as first responder partners such as the Northfield Area Fire and Rescue Service, and Northfield Hospital and Clinics Emergency Services. In some areas of the plan there will be a great reliance on mutual aid partners, volunteer resources, and partner businesses that have response capabilities. We are aware these response capabilities can vary from day to day and depending on the location of incidents. For that reason operational and backup plans are identified at department level operations and can vary from incident to incident.
