Staff Updates.
Body
Planning Applications (Zoning map amendments, subdivisions, CUP’s, variances, etc.)
• Cardinal Glass has been issued a grading permit and site work has begun.
• Spring Creek Townhomes 2nd Addition had their groundbreaking event on August 24, 2022.
• Staff continue to be in conversations on potential residential and commercial development.
Site Plan Reviews
• Strobel Werner has applied for a site plan review for 1700 Cannon Rd. to expand the existing warehouse building. Upon further review of the Aurora Warehouse expansion, staff determined a variance would not be required.
• Acorn Self Storage, 1260 5th St. W., grading permit has been issued and site work has begun.
• Benedictine Living Community has applied for a site plan review application for an additional parking area.
• All Flex site plan review application has been approved. Building permit applied for and staff anticipate site work to begin soon.
• The Kraewood Apartment complex has submitted for site plan review - in final review phase. Grading permit has been issued for the site and site stabilization has begun.
• Staff continues to review applications for new homes, garages, additions, adj. parcel land conveyances, sheds, fences, zoning letters and data requests.
Heritage Preservation Items

• Ms. Needham and Chair Evans will attend the PreserveMN Conference September 14-16, 2022 in Duluth, MN. See more information at: <https://mn.gov/admin/shpo/conference/>
• Commissioner Thomas and Commissioner Jarman will be presenting “It Takes a Village to Save a Depot” at the PreserveMN Conference.
Downtown/Friends/Main Street
• The Bridge Square Block Parties happen on the third Thursday of the month from 5-7pm, June - September.
