Carbon-Free Electricity Strategy.

Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council receives information on pathways to meeting the Climate Action Plan goal of carbon-free electricity.
Summary Report:
One of the goals of the Climate Action Plan is for the community to receive 100% carbon-free electricity by 2030. The City can lead by example by ensuring that all the electricity for our operations meets this goal.
Staff will review our current status, provide some pathways to consider and ask Council some questions to ascertain priorities with regard to energy purchasing decisions to help develop and approach to implement.
