Consider Summary Publication of Ordinance No. 1022 Amendment 1% for the Arts.

Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council approves summary publication of Ordinance No. 1022 amending Northfield City Code, Chapter 2 - Administration, article VI. - Boards and Commissions
Summary Report:
The Northfield City Council has completed the first and second readings of Ordinance No. 1022 amended to add that all budgets for city Capital Improvement Projects shall include an amount equal to 1% of the projected Construction Costs to be used for the costs of Public Art in accordance with Subsection (c)(5), and Eligible Funds shall be appropriated by the City in the amount so budgeted to pay the costs of Public Art in accordance with Subsection (c)(5).
Alternative Options:
The City Council could direct staff to publish the entire ordinance.
Financial Impacts:
The cost to publish the entire ordinance would be approximately four times more than the cost to publish the summary.
Tentative Timelines:
If approved, the summary is proposed to be published on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021. The ordinance would then be effective April 9th, 2021.
