The Northfield City Council approves the attached Resolution proclaiming Tuesday, February 4, 2020 as "Wayne Eddy Day" in Northfield, Minnesota.
Summary Report:
The Northfield City Council is being asked to proclaim Tuesday, February 4, 2020 as Wayne Eddy Day in Northfield. Eddy retired from KYMN Radio on December 31, 2019. Eddy has been a fixture of KYMN for more than half a century. Eddy reported on local news, weather, and sports and conducted over 10,000 interviews, with over 2,000 in the last 14 years on The Wayne Eddy Affair. Eddy leaves a lengthy legacy including participating in Defeat of Jesse James Days activities such as reenactments, serving on committees, driving the ambassadors in numerous parades, receiving the Joseph Lee Heywood Distinguished Service Award, serving on local boards including the Park Board, and being inducted into the Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
