Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council approves a motion designating the Northfield News as the official newspaper for 2020.
Summary Report:
Northfield City Charter Section 15.1 and City Code Section 2-57 provide that the City Council annually at its first meeting of the year designate the official newspaper for the purpose of publishing ordinances and other matters required by law and of public interest. Minn. Stat. c. 331A governs the determination of and selection of the City’s official newspaper. Relevant sections are noted in the attached e-mail from City Attorney Chris Hood.

Funds are budgeted in the 2020 budget for official publications.
