Discussion on Workforce Housing in Rice County.

Action Requested:
The Northfield Human Rights Commission is provided with information about a conversation taking place regarding workforce housing in Rice County being hosted by the cities within the County.
Summary Report:
At the May 9, 2019 meeting the HRC Chair requested that the HRC consider hosting a conversation between the Boards & Commissions in the City on the topic of Affordable Housing. Staff followed up with the Community Development Director on this issue as it falls within that department. The suggestion was made that HRC members would be welcome to attend this workforce housing conversation on June 20, 2019 (see attached flyer) as a starting point. As this topic better falls under the Housing and Redevelopment Authority that Board would be a better fit to lead any future discussions in the City.
