The City Council, EDA and Planning Commission will meet in joint session on April 11th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Northfield Police Department conference room. The purpose of this meeting is to gather perspectives on current issues facing the community-from individuals who are actively engaged in city affairs.
You will be asked general questions regarding the community and municipal operations, but most of the discussion will center on growth and development issues. Comments and feedback will be summarized and used by the City Council and staff as they develop their strategic plan for the next three years.
The consultant has provided a proposal to work with the EDA and staff to develop an economic development strategic plan for the City of Northfield following the City Council strategic planning process. This process would help to establish strategic EDA priorities for the next three years. A copy of the proposal is attached for your review.
The EDA strategic planning process is currently proposed for Thursday, June 29th and Friday, June 30th to coincide with the EDA Board meeting in June. Staff will provide an update on the forthcoming EDA strategic planning process and get feedback from EDA members on the proposed time frame for the sessions.
