Consider Approval of Project Pre-Construction Cost Agreement for NAFRS Facility Upgrade.

Action Requested:                     

The Northfield City Council authorize the approval of Project Pre-Construction Cost Agreement for NAFRS Facility Upgrade.

 

Summary Report:

The attached draft agreement will establish the City of Northfield to recover pre-construction costs for the NAFRS facility including, but not limited to, legal fees, design fees, bidding fees and legal fees related to the expansion project.  This agreement was presented and discussed at the Council worksession of March 14, 2017.

 

The NAFRS Board unanimously approved this agreement at its meeting on Thursday, March 17.

 

Alternative Options:

Remove from consent to discuss or clarify any items.

 

Financial Impacts:                     

The City is estimating the pre-construction fees incurred are currently estimated at about $180,000.  These costs will be reimbursed through a future bond issue.  Should the project not move forward NAFRS would be responsible to pay these costs by the end of 2018.
