The Northfield Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is asked to review the rule and regulations as well as the application form for the Community Gardens.
Summary Report:
Staff has drafted a rules and regulations document and an application form to reserve a garden plot. Staff will put the rules and regulations along with the application on the City Website Friday, March 17. Resident’s will submit the application to the Street and Park Department to reserve a garden plot. The garden plots will be distributed on a first come first serve basis. There will be ten 10’X10’ and thirty-three 10’X20’ garden plots.
The gardens will be ready for planting on April 28.
This year the plots will be free of charge. In the fall City staff along with the Park and Recreation Advisory Board will determine if it warrants charging a fee for the gardens in 2018.
Tentative Timelines:
Start accepting reservations March 17.
