Summary Report:
The 2016 National League of Cities Summit was held November 16-19. This conference is the largest gathering of local elected officials and staff in the country and is designed to offer exceptional educational and networking opportunities to increase the effectiveness of local leaders. You may visit the Youth Delegate Schedule (http://citysummit.nlc.org/youth-delegate-schedule/) if you are interested in seeing some of the sessions and related presentation materials.

The City Council sponsored two youth delegates from the Mayor's Youth Council along with their youth chaperone. Maleah Follen, Youth Engagement Coordinator with Northfield Healthy Community Initiative, was in attendance along with 2016 youth delegates Celia Meagher and Emma Iverson to provide a summary of their experiences at the Summit and to thank the City for their sponsorships. Mayor Pownell and Councilor Nakasian were in attendance at the Summit as well.

The Mayor's Youth Council does not plan to attend the National League of Cities City Summit in 2017.
