Body
Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council authorizes the purchase of an electric Zamboni ice resurfacer in the amount of $110,131.70.
Summary Report:
The City applied for and received a grant in the amount of $50,000.00 from the James Metzen Mighty Ducks Grant Program for indoor air quality improvements for an electric ice resurfacer.
The City received quotes for an electric ice resurfacer from two manufactures; Zamboni and Olympia from CTM Services, Inc. These are the two prominent industry leaders in ice resurfacers. Due to cost estimates, sizing and features, staff has chosen to propose the purchase from Zamboni.
The purchase of the Zamboni will be through cooperative purchasing through the National Joint Powers Association. Zamboni is an authorized vendor through the cooperative purchasing venture. The purchase also includes a trade-in of the existing Zamboni.
Purchasing through the National Joint Powers Association allows for additional savings of $3,978.30.
