Review & Provide Comment on 246 Corridor Study and Lincoln Pkwy/Dresden Road Traffic Analysis.

Action Requested:
The Planning Commission (PC) is requested to provide both high level feedback (good and bad about the two studies) and areas where specific changes could or should be made. The goal is to provide comments from the PC back to city staff. Please provide high level and detailed feedback to City Planner Mikayla Schmidt ahead of the meeting, to help consolidate comments from the PC, which will then be discussed at the meeting for general consensus.

Summary Report:
City staff have been working for several months to work on Trunk Highway (TH) 246 Corridor Study and Lincoln Parkway Traffic Analysis.

City Council received a presentation from Bolton & Menk and staff on 246 concept designs based on feedback from the community on Sept. 19th. Please watch the presentation which is attached as a hyperlink.

Lincoln Parkway concepts were presented to City Council on Oct. 17. Please watch the presentation which is attached as a hyperlink.

246 and Lincoln Parkway are both important roads, which have a big impact on surrounding land uses and neighborhoods. Both roads are main routes to schools, which can help or hinder students and staff getting to school independently and effectively. Both roads are also important links from Highway 3 into the community.

While thinking about high level and detailed feedback:

1. Think about the crosswalks - are they in the best locations?

2. Do the round-abouts make sense or not?

3. Is there pedestrian scale lighting?

4. Is there landscaping along the road?

5. Consider surrounding land uses and those which are connected (or not) by these projects. How could these project help better connect those land uses?
