Consider certifying delinquent charges to taxes payable 2020.

Action Requested:                     

The Northfield City Council approves the attached resolution that certifies delinquent charges to the 2020 tax bills.

 

Summary Report:

A public hearing notice on this matter was sent out in notices to the utility customers on October 1.  A notice of public hearing was also published in the Northfield News on October 30th.  After the public hearing, Council will be asked to approve the delinquent charges for assessment onto the 2020 property taxes.

 

Alternative Options:

No alternative option is recommended.

 

Financial Impacts:                     

Approving the certifications will bring the utility bills on the list current to June 30, 2019.

 

Tentative Timelines:                     

The resolution for delinquent accounts needs to be passed at the meeting so we can send the information to the County by December 1, 2019.
