Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council approves resolution approving the repeal of 4.09 Roles and Responsibilities of Council Finance Subcommittee Policy.
Summary Report:
The Council Finance Subcommittee was established in 2014. In 2016, the City Council adopted Policy 4.09, Roles and Responsibilities of the Council Finance Subcommittee, through Resolution 2016-102 (Attachment #2) to clarify the purpose, duties, and responsibilities of the Subcommittee.
In 2025, through Resolution 2025-091 (Attachment #4), and in consideration of ongoing board and commission governance as well as the annual budget process, the City Council voted to eliminate the Council Finance Subcommittee and transfer their duties to the Council as a whole.
As a result of the Subcommittee’s dissolution, this policy is no longer necessary.
The City Council is therefore asked to adopt the attached resolution formally repealing Policy 4.09, Roles and Responsibilities of the Council Finance Subcommittee
