Action Requested:                     

The Northfield City Council receive a presentation on the Police Department Body Worn Camera Biennial Audit Report

 

Summary Report:

The Northfield Police Department started a Body Worn Camera (BWC) program in 2021. State Statute 13.825 requires an independent bi-annual audit of the data to determine whether data are appropriately classified according to this section, how the data are used, and whether the data are destroyed as required under this section, and to verify compliance with the provisions of this statute.

 

The governing body with jurisdiction over the budget of the law enforcement agency shall review the results of the audit. This presentation will briefly summarize the results of the audit for the Council and the public.  The audit report is included in the agenda item later in this agenda and requests that the council accept the results of the audit report.

 

The audit report found NPD followed all requirements in statute.
