Consider Motion approving a Professional Service Agreement with JLG Architects for the plans, specifications and construction administration of the hail damage repair on City facilities.

Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council considers a motion to approve a Professional Service Agreement with JLG Architects for the plans, specifications and construction administration to repair the hail damage on City facilities.
Summary Report:
In the Summer of 2022 the Northfield area experienced a significant hail storm that damaged the roofs, metal components and HVAC equipment on a majority of the City buildings. League of Minnesota Insurance Trust (LMCIT) was immediately contacted and they conducted a thorough inspection of all City facilities. The types of facilities that were inspected include the NCRC, park facilities, properties in the open e.g. dugouts, City Hall, Utilities buildings, Street Shop, Library, gazebos, and shelters. A complete listing of the damaged properties is in EXHIBIT 1 of the Professional Services Agreement. The Babcock park facilities are not being repaired as they are scheduled for demolition. The residential properties on Elianna Drive are also not listed. They have already been repaired and need no further action. Based on that inspection LMCIT authorized the City to solicit proposals for the development of plans, specifications and construction administration of the repair project. JLG Architects was the low submitter at a cost not to exceed $90,000.
The City also sustained vehicle damage in the hail storm. 13 vehicles were damaged with 8 being repaired. 5 vehicles were not repaired due to the minor damage or age of the vehicle.
