The Northfield City Council is asked to approve a motion approving the lower-potency hemp edible retailer registration for Northfield Inc. dba Downtown Tobacco, 429 S. Division Street.

Summary Report:
The applicant, Downtown Tobacco, has submitted a complete application for a lower-potency hemp edible (LPHE) retailer registration to sell qualifying lower-potency hemp edibles as permitted under Minnesota law and the City of Northfield Code. The application has been reviewed by Community Development, the Police Department, and the City Clerk's office for compliance with applicable state and local requirements.
Lower-potency hemp edibles are regulated by the State of Minnesota through the Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) and by the City of Northfield through local registration and zoning standards. The City's role includes verification of zoning compliance, business registration, and adherence to operational standards adopted by ordinance.
