Title

Staff Update.

Body

Action Requested:

The ACC receives an update on current projects.

Summary Report:

New youth members will join us in August! Emerson and Khyla will continue and we will welcome Sam Froehle and Quinn Weitz.

Digital housekeeping: the social media accounts for the ACC are difficult for staff to maintain and unless they are regularly posting, they aren’t of much use and present a liability if hacked. We are deactivating the accounts on Facebook and Instagram for now.

Delighted with the work KCI Conservation did restoring Ray Jacobson’s fountain sculpture in Bridge Square. The invoice has been paid and we are working with them to set up a regular maintenance schedule. It would be nice to have a maintenance plan for all of the city’s significant outdoor artworks.

Delighted to be working with the Arts Guild to manage public art projects! This summer is very busy for the library and the help on project management has made the impossible, possible.

We are anticipating hosting a live painting demo with Mark Daehlin in August at the library. Mark is the artist featured on exhibit in City Hall. After the demo we will switch out the installation to work by Aramis Wells, a firefighter and photographer.

The library is working with landscape architects at Ten X Ten to reimagine the library’s grounds to be sustainable and accessible community space. Artwork will also play a key role in this. There will be two opportunities for community input that the ACC may wish to attend: 5:30 pm on July 31st and August 25th, at the library. These events will be added to the city’s notice list for public meetings.
