Summary Report:

City Administrator Martig will provide a summary of the Local Project Summary for State of Minnesota Capital Bond Requests.  Attached is some background information to review in advance of the meeting.  A summary presentation is being developed and will be provided as a supplemental memo.

The City of Northfield has been successful in recent history receiving State Bond funds as follows:

Project                                                                                    Dollars ($)                     Year Approved
Mill Towns State Trail                     $8.1M                                          2023

                     Transit Hub                                                               $1.17M                     2020

The City has been actively lobbying for the Bridge Square project at the current legislative session.  The request is for $4 million with a local match of $4 million.  The road and underground infrastructure of surrounding streets are a majority of the cost on the project.

Per the attached information, the deadlines are in June for submissions.  Staff will provide more information in the supplemental memo but detailed feedback of Council.

Staff has also attached the current 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan and the Lincoln Parkway study for reference on potential projects to consider.
