The Northfield City Council is being asked to hold a public hearing and by separate action consider approval of On-sale Wine and 3.2% Liquor Licenses for SMOQEHOUSE LLC located at 212 Division Str. S, Northfield.
Summary Report:
SMOQEHOUSE LLC, dba SMOQEHOUSE, has applied for On-sale Wine and 3.2 % Liquor Licenses for 212 Division Str. S, Northfield. SMOQEHOUSE LLC meets the qualifications necessary for these licenses.
SMOQEHOUSE opened on March 15, 2017 and now are seeking a liquor license to add beer to their food service. SMOQEHOUSE is a fast casual eatery featuring hand crafted sandwiches, salads, soups using ingredients from local sources.
On-sale 3.2 percent malt liquor licenses shall be granted only to drugstores, clubs, restaurants, hotels, and bowling centers, and shall permit the sale of 3.2 percent malt liquor for consumption on the licensed premises only. An on-sale wine license may be issued by the City with the approval of the commissioner of public safety to a restaurant having facilities for seating at least 30 guests at one time. A wine license permits the sale of wine of up to 24 percent alcohol by volume for consumption. A wine license authorizes the sale of wine on all days of the week including Sundays. A holder of an on-sale wine license issued pursuant to this chapter who is also licensed to sell 3.2 percent malt liquor at on-sale pursuant to Minn. Stat. ? 340A.411, is also authorized to sell intoxicating malt liquors at on-sale without an additional license.
