The Northfield City Council asked to approve a motion approving the amended 2025-2027 FiftyNorth and Age Friendly Northfield Steering Committee Related to Age Friendly Northfield (AFN) initiatives.
Summary Report:
Please see attached amended 2025-2027 service contract with FiftyNorth (acting as a fiscal agent) and Age Friendly Northfield Steering Committee to implement Age Friendly Northfield (AFN) initiatives. This service contract was originally approved on October 15, 2024 in the amounts of $32,850 for 2025, $34,100 for 2026, and $35,700 for 2027. However, during the 2026 budget discussions, the City Council chose to decrease some of the funds provided to partner organizations in 2026. As part of these adjustments, the cost of service from the City to Age Friendly will decrease from $34,100 to $5,000. A redlined version (attachment 1) and clean version (attachment 2) and insurance certificate (attachment 3) are attached.
In addition, the contract has been adjusted slightly to better solidify when payments are made to Age Friendly. The current contract states the second annual payment will be made 30 days after the mid-year Age Friendly presentation to the City Council. This date has fluctuated in recent years, so staff is proposing to change the contract to a specific date (be September 15th). Age Friendly will still be expected to present an annual update to the City Council but their second of two payments will not be aligned with that date. Please note, this will only apply to 2027. For 2026, the payment will be made at one time (by March 15th) due to the decrease for the year.
