Public Hearing on Sale of Property Located at 1280 Bollenbacher Drive Northfield, Minnesota (PID Nos. 2201351001, 2201351002, 2201351003).

BODY
Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council will hold a public hearing on the sale of property 1280 Bollenbacher Drive, Northfield, MN (PID Nos. 2201351001, 2201351002, 2201351003).

Summary Report:
City Council has authorized staff to negotiate the sale of the current ice arena. After several months of negotiations and further commitments by the Council to build a new arena. Staff is presenting the final agreed upon purchase agreement and subsequent lease agreement for Council approval.

The City will lease the current facility for two years while the new ice arena is being constructed.

The public hearing will be immediately followed by a proposed action item approving the sale.

The agenda item immediately following the hearing includes Resolution Approving the Sale of City-Owned Real Property Located at 1280 Bollenbacher Drive in Northfield, Minnesota (PID Nos. 2201351001, 2201351002, 2201351003) and Dispensing with Review of the Sale by the Northfield Planning Commission. All the documents are provided in this agenda item.

A presentation is being prepared and will be provided as a supplemental memo. City Administrator Martig will present and City Attorney Hood will be available for questions in additional to City Administrator Martig.

Alternative Options:
The City Council can decline to sell the building and direct staff on Council priorities related to current properties owned by the City.

Financial Impacts:
The sale price is $1,025,000.

Sale proceeds will be used to assist the funding of the new ice arena.
