Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council approves the attached Resolution - 2024 College Street and Water Street Areas Reconstruction Project (STRT2024-A77) and Approving Final Payment for the Project.
Summary Report:
The City Council is being asked to accept the public improvements for the 2024 College Street and Water Street Areas Reconstruction Project STRT2024-A77 and approve final payment to ICON, LLC in the amount of $10,343.09 (Attachment 2). The contract was awarded to ICON LLC at the March 12, 2024, City Council Meeting in the amount of $6,827,295.88. There were four Change Orders during construction that brought the final construction contract amount to $6,913,466.95 which was within the approved project budget.
Alternative Options:
This project is completed and the final acceptance and payment is required to close out the construction contract.
Financial Impacts:
The total project costs for the project were $7,418,217.35. This is compared to $8,339,203.60 that was approved for total project costs at the time of project award. In addition to the normal funding from bonding, franchise fees, and the sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water funds, this project also utilized grant funding from the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority (MPFA) under the Lead Service Line Replacement (LSLR) Program for the replacement of lead service lines that were discovered during the improvement project.
