Riverside Lions Park (7th St) Playground Design Update and Feedback

Body

Action Requested:

The Park and Recreation Advisory Board discusses and provides feedback on the 60% playground design and the proposed next steps.

Summary Report:

The Park and Recreation Advisory Board will receive a presentation updating members on the Riverside Lions Park (7th Street) playground project. The presentation will:

1.                     Introduce new Board members to the project’s history, including the Parks and Recreation Capital Investment Plan and the Riverside Lions Long-Range Plan (full documents can be found on the City’s website).

2.                     Provide an overview of the 30% concept designs presented in August 2024.

3.                     Review the latest 60% design progress, focusing on detailed designs and equipment selection.

Feedback gathered during this meeting will inform the next steps, including a public open house and online engagement, to refine the design to 95%. The goal is to finalize and approve the design by March, with Council approval in April, allowing staff to begin construction in summer 2025.
