Body

Action Report:

The EDA Board shall receive a presentation from the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC).

Summary Report:

The Northfield EDA entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) <https://www.ledcmn.org/> in March of this year. See the MOU document attached for reference. The MOU has a duration of six months, which will conclude in the middle of September.

Prior to the MOU ending, the Executive Director of LEDC, Alma Flores, has prepared a presentation detailing the success LEDC has achieved working in Northfield. Following the presentation, EDA Board members will have the opportunity to ask LEDC and the economic development staff questions.

With the success of LEDC’s engagement in Northfield, EDA staff are working on a draft contract for services with LEDC to position that organization as the EDA’s technical assistance consultant. Staff will present the draft contract to the EDA Board at the September meeting.

Alternative Options:

The EDA Board may take any alternative options decided by the board.

Financial Impacts:

The MOU with LEDC has no financial obligations.
