Summary Report:
The Northfield EDA entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with LEDC in March 2025, and signed a full contract to work with Northfield in September 2025. This current contract runs through the Fall of 2028.
This presentation is a chance for LEDC to share their work in the Northfield business community. They typically present twice a year (Spring and Fall.)
Additionally, LEDC has been an excellent partner through the Operation Metro Surge that deeply impacted Northfield’s business community. The EDA expanded our partnership with LEDC by funding an emergency grant program in March 2026, providing a funding source specific to Northfield businesses impacted by those actions. While staff does not expect much of the $100,000 allocation to be spent (unspent funds will be returned to the EDA) LEDC was able to assist a business as a result of the funding. The EDA will receive more of an update on this item in upcoming meetings with respect to the financial impact of the allocation.
