Land Development Code Reading Assignment.

Action Requested:                     

The Planning Commission (PC) is requested to read an assigned Section of the City’s Land Development Code.

 

Summary Report:

As part of the PC Work Plan, one of the duties of the PC is, “To make recommendations to the city council regarding the adoption of the official comprehensive plan for Northfield or any amendments.” As part of the work beginning around the Comprehensive Plan (CP), the PC work plan notes as a strategy to prepare for the CP update to read part or all Chapter 34 - Land Development Code of City Ordinances.  

 

The PC is asked to read Subsection 3.3 - General Development Standards, 3.4 - Neighborhood Compatibility Standards and Subsection 3.5 - Landscape, Screening, and Buffering Standards of Article 3. - Site Development of the LDC.

 

The General Development Standards section includes the existing outdoor lighting standards. Please see the attached draft of an update to this section. Staff is working to finalize the draft and bring this for a text amendment.
