Staff is recommending approval of a Resolution Proclaiming May 2017 as “Bike Month” in Northfield as part of the consent agenda.
Summary Report:
Josh Ramaker, Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) Coordinator with Rice County Public Health will be in attendance to present some of the activities occurring in Rice County for National Bike Month as well as the benefits of bicycling.
May is National Bike Month, sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling - and encourage more folks to giving biking a try.
There will be fun activities throughout the month along with Bike to School Day on May 10 and Bike to Work Day on May 20 (which is during bike to work week).
Attached is the resolution proposed for approval under the consent agenda.
