Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council approves publication of a summary of Ordinance No. 981.
Summary Report:
The Northfield City Council has completed the first and second readings of Ordinance No. 981 which amends City Code Chapter 50 - Offenses and Miscellaneous Provisions Related to Disorderly Conduct, Loud Parties and Noise. Summary publication requires a four-fifths vote of the Council per §412.191 Subd. 4.
Alternative Options:
The City Council could direct staff to publish the entire ordinance.
Financial Impacts:
The cost to publish the entire ordinance would be higher than the cost to publish the summary.
Tentative Timelines:
If approved, the summary is proposed to be published on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. The ordinance would then be effective on September 23, 2016.
