Title

Consider Resolution approving renewal of Limited Use Permit (LUP) with MnDOT on Trunk Highway 3 for trail south of Cannon River.

Body

Action Requested:

The Northfield City Council considers a resolution approving a Limited Use Permit with Minnesota Department of Transportation for Truck Highway 3 trail on Trunk Highway 3 south of the Cannon River.

Summary Report:

In 2022, the City entered into an agreement for the maintenance of the trails on Trunk Highway 3 south of the Cannon River on both the east and west side of TH-3.  This new permit will supersede the previous permit and will extend the maintenance of the trail on the east side of Th-3 south to Jefferson Parkway.  The City is rebuilding the trail in 2024 for the Mill Towns State Trail segment covered by this LUP.

The new permit adds renewal clause between MnDOT and the City. The new permit will be for 10-years and expires June 1, 2034.
