Action Requested:                     

Staff recommends a motion to approve a tobacco license for Posh Puff LLC, DBA Posh Puff Tobacco, at 2010 Jefferson Road, Suite D, subject to the following conditions:

1.                     Successful completion of a background check.

 

Summary Report:

Julie Ayoub, new owner of Posh Puff LLC, has applied for a tobacco license for 2010 Jefferson Road, Suite D.  Currently there is a tobacco license at this location.  Licenses are only valid on the premises for which the license is issued and only for the person to whom the license is issued.  There are no license transfers allowed in City Code.     

 

The Police Department has completed the necessary background check finding no areas of concern.  The license approval is subject to the conditions noted above which includes the successful background check.  City tobacco licenses run from January 1 through December 31.  This license will expire December 31, 2024 and renew at the same time as the other City tobacco licenses.  

 

Staff recommends approval of the license.

 

Alternative Options:

Per City Code Sec. 30-63, “the City Council may either approve, approve with conditions, or deny the license or it may delay action for a reasonable period of time as necessary to complete an additional investigation of the application or the applicant it deems necessary.”   The entire Chapter 30 Article II Tobacco can be viewed through the link as Attachment 1.

 

Financial Impacts:                     

The license fee is $400.00.
