Consider Resolution Accepting $22,267.70 from the Minnesota Secretary of State Office in Presidential Nomination Primary Reimbursement Funds.

Action Requested:

The Northfield City Council approves the attached Resolution formally accepting Presidential Nomination Primary Reimbursement from the Minnesota Secretary of State Office.

 

Summary Report:

The City Council is being asked to officially accept the Presidential Nomination Primary Reimbursement from the Minnesota Secretary of State Office of $22,267.70 received June 24,2024. 

 

According to Minnesota Statute 207A.15 Subdivision 2, the Secretary of State must reimburse the counties and municipalities for expenses incurred in the administration of the presidential nomination primary from money contained in the presidential nomination primary elections account. Attachment 2 is a link to the statute.

 

Alternative Options:

Do not accept and return funds.

 

Financial Impacts:

A one-time increase in revenue in 2024 Election activity.

 

Tentative Timelines:

Monies need to be accepted prior to completion of the annual audit.
