Action Requested:
The City Council is being asked to approve the attached Resolution Proclaiming the week of October 15-21 as Friends and Foundation of the Northfield Public Library Week.
Summary Report:
The Friends and Foundation of the Northfield Public Library (FFOL) exists to support the Northfield Public Library, to raise awareness of library services to the community, to ensure financial support for the library and to aid the library in innovative programs and events. The FFOL is a significant funder of the Children’s Summer Reading program each year, and without their tireless work in raising funds for the library renovation project and for the library’s new bookmobile these projects would have not yet happened. They have helped to raise the visibility of the library in the community, and they have brought to the City many valuable partnerships with local, state and national library and educational organizations. Their work continues each and every year to support and advocate for the library. The library, and the City, is proud to recognize the Northfield Friends and Foundation as a vital contributor to the well-being of the Northfield Public Library.
