The Charter Commission is asked to approve a motion to approve the proposed process on responding to open public comments at meetings.

 

Summary Report:

The Charter Commission is asked to approve the proposed process on responding to open public comments at meetings that was discussed at the March 12, 2026 Charter Commission meeting.

 

The process ensures that suggestions raised by members of the public are acknowledged and considered in a transparent and respectful manner by initiating a formal and consistent process.

 

A redline draft (attachment #1) and clean draft (attachment #2) of the proposed process, incorporated into the Charter Commission under Citizen Comment at Charter Commission Meetings are attached.

 

Once approved, staff will update the Charter Commission Policy on the Charter Commission webpage.
