Consider Resolution Authorizing Staff Initiation of the City of Northfield Strategic Plan (2018-2020) Action Plan Implementation.

Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council approves the Resolution Authorizing Staff Initiation of the Northfield Strategic Plan Summary (2018-2020) Action Plan Implementation.
Summary Report:
The City Council approved the Strategic Plan Report (2018-2020) from the September 19 Council meeting. The report includes a background of the process, strategic plan description, vision statement and mission statement.
Staff has continued to work on the development of the proposed action plans for implementation. Additionally, City Administrator Martig is exploring software tool options to assist on the organization, tracking and reporting of the strategic plan to allow for more effective implementation
The resolution and detailed action plans are included as background for Council approval. Council meeting for Council authorization to proceed. Staff is, and will continue to further develop the action plan. The first follow-up implementation presentation and update is planned to be scheduled for a worksession in January of 2018.
Staff welcomes any questions, comments or concerns related to the initial Strategic Plan (2018-2020) Action Plan as presented.
Alternative Options:
a. Continue the item to another meeting for further review and feedback.
b. Approve and request discussion on a particular Strategic Initiative Action Plan at a regular meeting of the City Council in November or December.
