Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council is asked to approve summary publication of Ordinance No. 1026 Granting Cable Television Franchise to CMN-RUS, Inc (Metronet).
Summary Report:
The Northfield City Council has completed the first and second readings of Ordinance No. 1026. The ordinance grants a franchise to CMN-RUS, Inc. (Metronet) to construct, operate and maintain a cable system in the City of Northfield for the sole purpose of providing cable service.
Alternative Options:
The City Council could direct staff to publish the entire ordinance.
Financial Impacts:
The cost to publish the entire ordinance would be approximately four times more than the cost to publish the summary.
Tentative Timelines:
If approved, the summary is proposed to be published on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.
