Title
Consider Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Authorizing Advertisement for Bid for Water Treatment Plant Street and Utility Extensions
Body
Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council considers the attached Resolution approving plans and specifications and authorizing advertisement for bid for the Water Treatment Plant Street and Utility Extensions (WATR2023-J34).
Summary Report:
The City Council is being asked to approve the plans and specifications for the Water Treatment Plant Street and Utility Extensions (WATR2023-J34) and to Authorize Advertisement for Bid.
Bolton and Menk, Inc. has prepared plans and specifications for the Water Treatment Plant Street and Utility Extensions. Jefferson Parkway will be extended to the east along the water treatment plant property as well as Sandstone Street will be constructed on the easterly border of the water treatment plant site from Jefferson Parkway to the north approximately 600 feet.
Plans and Specifications can be obtained at the City Hall Engineering Office. Should the Council want access over the weekend please contact City Administrator Martig and he will make arrangements to view them.
Alternative Options:
The City Council could choose not to approve the plans and specifications and order advertisement for bid which staff does not recommend due to timing of the project in relation to timing of Jefferson Parkway mill and overlay in 2026.
Financial Impacts:
The project engineer estimate is $9,182,880 for roadway, raw watermain, and trunk sanitary sewer.
Tentative Timelines:
Raw watermain will be installed in 2025, roadway and trunk sanitary sewer can be constructed in 2025 to 2026.
