Summary Report:
David Unmacht, Executive Director of the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC) has requested the opportunity to address the City Council. He would like to introduce himself and his role with the LMC, summarize the services of the LMC including priorities and the Legislative session, and to recognize Mayor Pownell for her service as President of LMC since June 16, 2016. Mayor Pownell will complete her service as LMC President following the appointment of the new President elected at the League’s Annual Conference this June in Rochester. Mayor Pownell also serves on the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust Board of Trustees. Mr. Unmacht encourages any questions or comments at the meeting.
Mr. Unmacht has served as the LMC Executive Director since August of 2015. The League of Minnesota Cities is a membership organization dedicated to helping cities throughout Minnesota build quality communities through effective advocacy, expert analysis, trusted guidance, and collective action. The League serves its more than 830 member cities through advocacy, education and training, policy development, risk management, and other services.
