Title
Consideration to Accept Donation for Additional Playground Equipment at Dresden Hills Park
Body
Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council approves the attached resolution accepting a donation from Youth Bank Grant recipients Athziri Marcial Rodriguez, Odalis Ascensio Puga, Sheyla Lino and the adult advisor Sara Tetrault, of $14,000 to go towards additional playground equipment at Dresden Hills Park.
Summary Report:
Athziri Marcial Rodriguez, Odalis Ascensio Puga, Sheyla Lino were Youth Bank Grant recipients which was a project through the Northfield Healthy Community Initiative.
The young ladies received this grant for the installation of playground equipment to be located in the Viking Terrace Mobile Home Park. After receiving the grant, the owners of Viking Terrace decided there was not an ideal location inside the Mobile Home Park for the playground equipment.
Northfield Healthy Community Initiative was in contact with the City to see if it was possible to add additional equipment to the Dresden Hills Park playground. It was determined that additional playground equipment could be added to the existing playground.
The grant recipients would like to donate the grant money ($14,000) to the City of Northfield for additional equipment at Dresden Hills Park. The three girls are working with the City to determine what equipment could be added to the Park. The grant money would cover the additional equipment and the cost of enlarging the playground area.
Attached are pictures of the proposed equipment to be added.
