Ice Arena Project Update along with Building Renderings and Site Plan.

Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council receives an update on the Ice Arena.
Summary Report:
The City of Northfield approved the partnership framework with the City of Dundas, Northfield School District and Northfield Hockey Association on June 18, 2024 along with the contract for the architect. Since that time, the project team made up of representatives from each partners along with the Northfield Skate School, have been meeting to finalize the interior floor layout of the Ice Arena and have reviewed a draft site plan and building rendering.
JLG Architects, will share the updated floor layout and building rendering and provide Council with an opportunity to share their thoughts.
A few other updates related to the project:
• The City has requested qualification/proposal from Construction Managers. The City received responses from seven (7) firms and have requested proposals from three (3) firms. The Construction Manager contract will be recommended for approval by Council at an October Council Meeting.
• Staff have been working with the City Attorney and Bond Counsel on formal agreements with partners; draft agreements have been shared with each partner and they are currently reviewing. Staff anticipate the partners to act on the agreement in October and the City to act in November.
• The EDA will be reviewing the Conduit Financing at their September 23 meeting.
