About the speaker, Karla Esqueda (she/her), ACLU organizer. Karla is a Organizer who works the ACLU-MN as of 2018. As an organizer, Karla works to educate and engage Southern Minnesota communities with voter outreach initiatives and tackle reducing disparate treatment of immigrants in those regions. Karla is passionate about working with underserved populations and using her key strengths in community education to positively effect change. When Karla is not out engaging communities she is spending time cooking Mexican dishes with her family.

 

About the organization: Founded in 1952 as the Minnesota Civil Liberties Union, the ACLU of Minnesota continues to promote, protect, and extend the civil liberties and civil rights of people in Minnesota through litigation, lobbying, and the community engagement.
