Action Requested:                     

The Northfield City Council is requested to consider a Motion accepting License for Utility to Cross Public Waters with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

 

Summary Report:

City Council is being asked to accept license number UWAT014061 for utility to cross public waters (Attachment 1) with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. The license agreement to cross public waters is part of the trunk sanitary sewer extension for the water treatment plant site. The new trunk sanitary sewer line will cross Spring Creek which is a public water requiring an agreement with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to install the sanitary sewer. A design document showing the location of the sanitary sewer proposed is included (Attachment 2).

 

The license agreement will be for 50 years and at that time, the City along with the Department of Natural Resources may extend the license. The City is required to have the license in order to complete the work needed for extension of the sanitary sewer.
