The City of Northfield, Clean River Partners, and Carleton College are hosting a community gathering focused on climate action. This event will bring together community members to explore innovative strategies for climate change mitigation, adaptation, and resilience, with special attention to the Northfield riverfront.

                     Green Step Cities Award

The City of Northfield has retained its Step 4 and 5 status in the Minnesota GreenStep Cities program, recognizing its continued commitment to sustainability and performance improvement. Northfield will be honored for this achievement at the upcoming League of Minnesota Cities Conference.

 

                     MN Green Corp Application

The City of Northfield’s application for the 2025-2026 Minnesota GreenCorps program was not selected for placement. This year saw a record 98 applications from public service organizations, with only 58 member positions available across the state.

                     MN Geothermal Planning Grant

The City of Northfield submitted an application to the Minnesota Department of Commerce’s Geothermal Planning Grant Program. While eligible, the City was not randomly selected for funding as part of the program’s effort to distribute grants across Minnesota’s congressional districts.
