-                     The upcoming agenda items list is attached for reference.

 

Planning Applications & Related Updates

-                     See hyperlink on the City’s Construction & Development Map.

-                     No new updates for The Archer House site plan application. The development team plans to begin construction on the site this year.

-                     Loon Liquor held a ribbon cutting on September 25th.

-                     Staff and the project team are completing due diligence with the proposer on the 5th and Washington project to develop a financially feasible and responsible proforma prior to committing more time or funds. The HPC will review and comment on any final proposal for the site.

-                     A stakeholder meeting was held regarding the Ames Mill Dam. The dam is a contributing structure to our Downtown Historic District. A certificate of appropriateness will be required for any work on the dam. Staff will update the HPC on any progress related to the project.

o                     SHPO representatives clarified that the removal of the dam will require documentation commensurate with the impact.

o                     Further study will be required, including a survey of the dam, and development of a plan or program to document the history of the dam.

o                     Archaeological surveying will likely be required during the demolition and reconstruction.

-                     Hwy 19 Reconstruction Section 106 Review -

o                     A letter was submitted to MNDOT and SHPO regarding the additional questions HPC had about the 106 review.

o                     No response has been received.

-                     Commissioner Stangler and Staff Liaison Hughey attended the annual PreserveMN conference in New Ulm, MN.
