Summary Report:
City Administrator Martig is working with Craig Rapp on scheduling for the Strategic Planning process. Attached is an updated proposed schedule for council review. Also, there has been one modification to change the separate focus groups of the EDA and Planning Commission to a joint facilitated meeting of the City Council to create a shared vision for common priorities and key projects. The following is a summary of the current schedule awaiting final confirmation of Councilor availability:
April 6 - Community Forum for Boards & Commissions (evening)
April 11 - City Council, Planning Commission, EDA - strategic planning session
May 9 - Strategic Planning 1 and 2
May 10 - Strategic Planning #3
* Final completion and presentation to be scheduled upon verification of Council availability.
Last Council meeting, there was a discussion regarding limiting new initiatives that could include significant resources of staff time. The following is a summary of items discussed from last meeting. The following is a summary from City Administrator Martig providing an update on some of the intended approaches to these items while strategic planning is waiting to commence in April which is only about 30 days:

Flood Control Electrical boxes planned for bid and west flood wall on list for future
Hwy 246 study Underway with future council action pending.
River access Staff pursue temporary 2017 access options. Larger review on hold for strategic planning.
Northfield township Staff pursuing process to discuss existing annexation agreement status.
Community solar City Administrator Martig is exploring options in investing in community solar garden design that are set to expire in 2017 and would need to be committed to within the next 90-days or so.
Ice Arena Studies underway
GARE GARE Racial Equity Cohort underway
NAFRS facility Process ongoing.
Stormwater analysis Underway
Pavement analysis Underway for street system.

Mill Towns Trail Comprehensive Plan map review pending (in discussion of process and scheduling).

This is not a comprehensive list but illustrates the substantial list of items that are ongoing with the strategic planning scheduled to begin in the near future. City Administrator Martig welcomes any questions in regards to this approach.
