Summary Report:
Member Blazis has served his six-year term with a combination of strong leadership and a deep commitment to collaboration-an approach undoubtedly shaped by his work with St. Olaf College. He generously contributed his time to the Loan and Finance Committees and served as Treasurer. He reliably stepped in to lead meetings as needed, often without staff preparation, doing so with steady confidence.
During his tenure, the Board navigated a number of unexpected challenges-including the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing staffing constraints. Throughout it all, Member Blazis remained a consistent and thoughtful voice of reason.
His measured, informed perspective has shaped EDA discussions across many key efforts, including the 5th Street Lofts TIF, the Ice Arena, and the launch of programs such as the Façade and Riverfront Enhancement grants, among others.
