Title

Staff Update.

Body

Action Requested:

The ACC receives an update on current projects.

Summary Report:

•                     The City has opened a survey for the next strategic plan. You can take it here: <https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KY7BKKP>

•                     A small group attended the reception for Mark Daehlin’s Freedom Road Heroes exhibit at City Hall on February 18th. The exhibit has been well-received and will remain in place through the summer. Mark will hold a 3-day live painting demo in the library atrium in August.

•                     Mark your calendars for 4/28 at 7 PM (doors open) for the Living Treasure Award at the Grand. We will be honoring Bob Gregory-Bjorklund.

•                     The Water Treatment Plant bids were rejected by City Council and that project is not likely to proceed in the near term. This eliminates a significant source of funding for public art and cancels the planned artwork for the WTP site. The artist has been notified.

o                     We hope to put out a call to artists for the Ice Arena mosaic mural this June, assuming the project moves forward.

•                     The Percent for the Arts annual report is attached to this update. It will be shared with City Council at the next opportunity.
