Recognition of Service to the Northfield Economic Development Authority - Mike Strobel

Action Requested:
The EDA Board shall make a motion to adjourn the meeting in order to recognize Member Mike Strobel’s years of service to the EDA. Staff will provide refreshments and treats.
Summary Report:
Member Strobel has served on the EDA since 2017. He has been a champion of many economic development priorities especially pertaining to the EDA’s socio-economic initiatives, redevelopment projects, Micro-Grants, EDA loans, and entrepreneurial partnerships. During his time on the EDA, Member Strobel has served in Board leadership roles and has volunteered to be on the loan review committee. EDA staff is most thankful for Member Strobel’s leadership during his time as EDA President in 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Member Strobel, CEO and founder of Aurora Pharmaceutical also has been a hugely successful business leader growing the company in Northfield. The EDA and City of Northfield has been happy to collaborate in assisting with their growth over the years including sale of public land to support growth, Tax Increment Financing assistance, and securing State funds collaboratively with private expansion projects. Staff and the EDA look forward to continuing to find ways to support Aurora’s growth and look forward to working with Strobel in the future.
