Title
Water Treatment Plant Public Art Project.

Body
Action Requested:
Discuss Water Treatment Plant Public Art Project.

Summary Report:
The City is constructing the water treatment plant near its existing water tower located at 1353 Hall Avenue on land recently purchased by the City. The picture below shows the property for construction of the water treatment plant.

The City has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for an artist or artist team to design and execute site-specific art installation/s, to be located on the grounds of the Water Treatment Plant. The artist(s)/artist team will work with the project team to integrate the artwork into the overall landscape design.

The art is to be located outside the new water treatment facility, on the grounds adjacent to Hall Ave. There may also be an opportunity to install artwork on the exterior street-facing windows and/or fa?ade of the building but there is a preference for site-specific proposals that work with the landscape design to add interactive, interpretive value conveying the importance of water conservation without being overly didactic.

The public art component will have approximately $150,000 budget.
